Fees & FAQ

How much does therapy cost?

Initial appointments are $200.  The session is about 1 ½ hours.

Follow-up appointments are $150 for 55-minute.

I accept credit card/debit cards, HSA and FSA.

Do you take my insurance?

Aetna, BlueCross Blueshield, Cigna, Oscar, Optum, Oxford, and United.  Please note Magellan Plans, EAPs, and Medicaid are not accepted.

I accept Out-of-Network (OON) benefits for all insurance plans, by providing "Superbills" for you to file with your insurance company for reimbursement.  I can also assist with navigating this process--just ask!

In an effort for full transparency, therapy with me or any other clinician is an option service.  Clients and potential clients may terminate services at any time for any reason.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage, a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges, both orally and in writing or upon request or at the time of scheduling health care services.

I'm ready, how do I start therapy?

Great!  Let's get started by scheduling a complimentary 15-minute consultation.  I will ask for a bit of background to ensure a good fit (this is your chance to interview me too!) and then proceed to making your first appointment.  We can discuss your therapy expectations, insurance or payment preference, and any questions.  If referrals are appropriate, I will discuss those options with you as well.

What will my first appointment look like?

After we have our 15-minute consultation we will schedule the first appointment.  The first appointment will look different than any other session.  The session will last 1 ½ hours.  I will ask lots of questions, ranging from your past to the reason you're seeking therapy now.  Don’t worry—this is normal.  This is the time for us to get to know each other better, discuss your journey, and work together to make the best plan to achieve your goals.  We will decide the frequency of follow-up appointments that will best for you.  And will get straight to work—you’ll leave that appointment with tangible takeaways to start your healing!

What will follow-up appointments look like?

Frequency and duration of follow-up appointment depends on so many factors.  The overall intent is that we establish a plan together, knock out your goals, and plan for therapy to taper off and eventually end.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth offers flexibility and can be easily accessed from your smartphone, computer, or tablet.  I only provide telehealth therapy via HIPAA-compliant web video.  Most clients prefer this method as it reduces taking time off from work, commuting, arranging childcare, etc.  Your personal data, medical information, and private communications are all hosted on HIPAA-compliant, SSL-encrypted servers.  Telehealth sessions are never recorded.  I do ask that you find a quiet place free from distractions to have your appointment.  Please note that I cannot guarantee confidentiality if you’re in a public space.  Please no driving during telehealth appointments.
